Blue Mountain Celebration's mission is to support individuals with disabilities by
providing services that will enhance and expand their computer use for communication,
education, leisure, and employment.
When well chosen and well integrated, assistive technology can have a powerful impact
on the lives of individuals with disabilities. Motorized wheelchairs, computer
modifications, and creative software are allowing individuals with disabilities to
acquire higher levels of education, live independently, and have meaningful jobs.
As computer-related technology becomes more sophisticated and more available for
individuals with disabilities, there is a growing need for expertise in the optimization
of assistive technology on an individual basis.
That's where Blue Mountain Celebration comes in. We provide:
- Customization of technology for each individual's unique needs
- Training for individuals using the technology and for their families, school
staff, and employers
- Integration of computer-based technology into school curricula
- Documentation to establish technology efficacy and to aid in decision making
In identifying the combination of assistive technologies that will be most helpful
to the individual, we also carefully consider careful the precise nature of each
individual's gross motor, fine motor, and sensory difficulties as well as to any
