Welcome to Electric Prairie
Well, first of all you’ve got to understand our name.
We wanted a name that expresses the joy and excitement we feel for the great old
music we’ve been performing the past few years at churches, coffee houses and other
venues in and around Missouri and Kansas.
The name comes from that come-alive feeling you get when you’re driving through the prairie,
perhaps the vast Flint Hills of Kansas, and you get caught in a rainstorm. The sky darkens,
storm clouds churn across the sky and bolts of lightening shred the horizon. The entire
prairie is suddenly electric with an awesome and encompassing show of power. And in that
beautiful show of energy and light, you just know that you are in the presence of God.
So that’s what’s up with the name. As for the music, we like to think we weave together
a unique blend of folk, blues, bluegrass and gospel into what we call, for want of any
better description, eclectic Americana.
Please enjoy the sound clips and info on this site. And join our mailing list by clicking
on the button at bottom left – so you’ll get updates on our show schedule. We don’t trade
or sell your name to anyone for any reason.
